P5, P6 and P7

12th Oct 2019

Welcome back to a new term and a new year in P5, P6 & P7!

We had a busy first term covering the Victorians as our topic and discovering how Victorians celebrated Christmas!

We are delighted to welcome a new pupil, Jack Hughes, to our class.  We hope he is enjoying his new school!

The topic this term is a STEM topic, Wind and we will have lots of opportunities to incorporate science & technology into our lessons.

We welcome back our Gaelic Games coach, Johnny Garrity, who is also the Fermanagh Ladies' Gaelic Football manager! Johnny is coaching hurling/camogie to  the children for seven weeks and they're delighted to see him again!

Congratulations to our P6 Credit Union team including Aimee Kelly, James McManus, Aoibhinn Quinn & Sadbh Walsh, who came second place in the Belleek/ Garrison Credit Union heats.  It was very close but our team were awarded second place after answering tie-breaker questions! We are very proud of you all and also our P7 team including, Logan Ferguson, Malachy McGlone, Shéa McGowan and Emma McManus.

We had a very interesting visit from Sustrans on Valentine's Day and were involved in some Data Handling and PE activities to check and measure heart rates.  Raymond from Sustrans was very impressed with the 'Big Brains' team who achieved fun marks in his Data Handling activity! He explained that this was the first time any school had achieved full marks! He also had awards for two other class members for their excellent contributions to the activities.
